What if a Blizzard could do more than satisfy a sweet tooth?

On Thursday, August 13, DQ Brantford is inviting the community to grab a Blizzard® Treat, bring the family and help make a difference for children receiving care at McMaster Children’s Hospital during Miracle Treat Day.

Last year, Brantford came together in a big way, raising an incredible $21,317.59 for McMaster Children’s Hospital. This year, DQ Brantford is hoping the community will once again show that when Brantford comes together, even a simple treat can make a big impact.

And this year, there’s an especially personal reason to get involved.

Meet Ben: A Brantford Hero

Eight-year-old Brantford resident Ben knows firsthand what it means to receive care at McMaster Children’s Hospital.

In September 2025, Ben was diagnosed with T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. The months that followed brought intensive chemotherapy, countless procedures and more hospital stays than any child should have to endure.

After 10 months of treatment, Ben has now entered the maintenance phase of his treatment at McMaster Children’s Hospital. Throughout it all, his family says the care, compassion and support they have received have meant everything.

But Ben isn’t letting his diagnosis define him.

The eight-year-old recently completed a triathlon, plays rugby with the Brantford Harlequins, and is enjoying golf and tennis along the way.

For his family, there’s no question about how they see him.

“Our brave Ben truly is our hero.”

His story is a reminder of why days like Miracle Treat Day matter. Behind every dollar raised are children like Ben and the families relying on the specialized care, expertise and support provided by McMaster Children’s Hospital.

A Blizzard-Filled Day for a Great Cause

On August 13, DQ Brantford is turning Miracle Treat Day into a full day of community fun.

Guests can enjoy live music, local first responders, appearances by the Brantford Bulldogs, character appearances, family activities, free popcorn, face painting and more throughout the day.

And, of course, there will be plenty of Blizzards.

Net proceeds from every Blizzard® Treat sold at participating DQ Brantford locations will be donated to McMaster Children’s Hospital.

Whether you stop by for your favourite Blizzard, bring the kids for some family fun or simply want to show your support, every treat helps turn a sweet moment into something much bigger.
