The County of Brant’s 2026 Municipal and School Board Election will take place on Monday, October 26, 2026.
This year, voting in the County of Brant will take place online and by telephone only. There will not be traditional paper-ballot voting locations. Voter Assistance Locations will be available throughout the County for residents who need internet access, assistance voting or accessibility accommodations.
Eligible voters will receive a Voter Information Letter by mail before voting begins. The letter will include a secure Voter Identification Number (VIN), voting instructions and information needed to vote online or by telephone.

Online voting
Eligible voters can cast their ballot online using a computer, smartphone or tablet.
Online voting begins on Monday, October 19 and remains available until 8:00 p.m. on Election Day, Monday, October 26. The County’s current voting information states that advance voting opens October 19 at 9:00 a.m.
Voters will use the information provided in their Voter Information Letter to access the official voting website. The County says voters will enter their Voter Identification Number and date of birth, make their selections, review their ballot and submit it electronically.
Telephone voting
Residents can also vote by telephone during the voting period.
Using the official telephone number provided in the Voter Information Letter, voters will enter their Voter Identification Number and date of birth and follow the automated instructions to make and confirm their selections using the telephone keypad.
Once an online or telephone ballot has been submitted, it cannot be changed or cast again.
Need help voting?
Although voting is electronic, the County of Brant will provide Voter Assistance Locations during advance voting and on Election Day.
These locations are intended for residents who do not have internet access, need assistance using the online voting system or require accessibility accommodations. The County will also make internet-enabled devices available at designated locations, including Customer Service offices and libraries.
Voter Assistance Locations are being offered in communities throughout the County, including Paris, Burford, Cainsville, St. George, Glen Morris, Scotland, Onondaga and the Airport area. Hours vary by location, so voters should check the County of Brant Election Voting page before visiting.
Electors using a Voter Assistance Location are encouraged to bring their Voter Information Letter with them.
Make sure you are on the voters’ list
To vote, your name must be on the County of Brant voters’ list.
Residents should check their voter information if they have recently moved, changed their name, turned 18, become a new property owner or tenant, did not vote in the previous municipal election or do not receive a Voter Information Letter.
Voters who need to be added to the list or correct their information must now contact the County of Brant directly through the Clerk’s Office. Proof of identity, address or qualifying residency or property ownership may be required.
Who can vote?
You may vote in the County of Brant Municipal and School Board Election if you are:
- A Canadian citizen
- At least 18 years old on Election Day
- A resident of the County of Brant, or an owner or tenant of property in the County
- Not otherwise prohibited by law from voting
Eligible voters will cast ballots for Mayor, Ward Councillors and applicable School Board Trustees.
Election Day
Election Day is Monday, October 26, 2026.
Online and telephone voting will remain available until 8:00 p.m. Voter Assistance Locations will also be available on Election Day, although individual location hours may vary.
