A Wall of Sound Is Coming to Brantford. And You Won’t Want to Miss It.

If you’ve never heard 150 male voices sing together inside the Sanderson Centre, you’re missing something that is hard to put into words.
This May 31st, you’ll have your chance.

The Brant Men of Song are hosting a major choral event at the Sanderson Centre at 3 PM, bringing together six male chorus groups from across Ontario for an afternoon of rich harmony, powerful music, and community tradition. The concert will run just over two hours, with a break at the halfway point.

Brant Men of Song | A Brantford Institution

Most people in Brantford know the Brant Men of Song by reputation, even if they have never attended a full concert.
What many may not realize is just how much history this group carries.

Founded in 1961, the Brant Men of Song are the fourth longest-standing male chorus in Canada. For more than six decades, they have brought music to the community through annual concerts, charity events, Remembrance Day services, retirement home performances, and special community gatherings.

They have been a quiet but steady part of Brantford’s story for a long time.

May 31st: Six Choruses, One Stage

This special event, titled “A Sapphire Celebration,” marks the culmination of the Brant Men of Song’s 65th season. It is part of Ontario Sings, the annual highlight event of the Associated Male Choruses of Ontario, where member choruses take turns hosting. In 2026, Brantford gets the honour.

This year’s event will bring together six Ontario male chorus groups: the Brant Men of Song, Niagara Men’s Chorus, Men Aloud from Toronto, Cambridge Male Chorus, Guelph Male Chorus, and the Burlington Welsh Male Chorus.

The afternoon will begin with a grand entrance led by the Brantford Pipes, who will help bring all 150 singers into the Sanderson Centre in true ceremonial style.

From there, the choruses will perform both individually and together. Some songs will feature one group at a time, while others will bring all the voices together in what are known as mass pieces.

And the ending? That part is best left as a surprise. Let’s just say the final moments will give the audience something close to a 360-degree surround-sound experience, with voices filling the room in a way only a live choir can create. Inside the Sanderson Centre, known for its incredible acoustics, that kind of sound will be something special.

What to Expect

The setlist will include a wide range of music, including spirituals, original choral works, songs about life and culture, and even a selection from The Beatles.

The beauty of a male chorus is in the layering. You hear the bass voices, the baritones, the tenors, and the blend that happens when each part comes together at just the right time.

It is not just loud. It is full. It is deep. It is the kind of sound you feel as much as hear.
