CMB Erectors Completes Major Expansion at Massilly Facility in Brantford
CMB Erectors Inc., a Brantford-based construction company, completed a significant build for Massilly North America, adding a 40,000 square foot expansion to the company’s food-grade warehousing facility on site.
The expansion, which wrapped up in June 2023, was designed to meet the operational and sanitary requirements of food-safe manufacturing and storage. The structure features a full SB10 roof and wall system, five large strip windows to allow natural light, and a full-height interior liner package. With 45-foot clear heights inside the building, the facility is equipped to handle high-racking systems and increased storage capacity.
The project also included several custom components to ensure seamless integration with the existing building. CMB Erectors constructed a large, reinforced full-bay step connection to handle snow loading at the building junction. A parapet wall connection and a block wall mechanical room were also integrated into the final design.
Speaking on the complexity of the build, Clinton Benn, President of CMB Erectors Inc., said the team was proud to deliver a solution that not only meets industry standards but is also built for long-term adaptability. “This was a highly technical project that required close coordination and exacting standards,” he said. “Our team delivered a food-grade facility that not only meets today’s operational needs but is also built for future scalability.”
The project was completed in collaboration with Paulsan Construction Inc. and American Buildings and further cements CMB Erectors’ reputation as a trusted steel building partner across Ontario.
Massilly North America manufactures metal packaging solutions and closures and has continued to expand its Brantford footprint in recent years.
