Brantford, ON – July 1, 2025 – Brantford is gearing up for one of the biggest community events of the year, and you’re invited! The Canada Day Celebration at Lions Park Steve Brown Sports Complex (12 Edge Street) promises a jam-packed day of fun for the whole family. From live music and carnival rides to food trucks, lumberjack shows, and a spectacular fireworks finale this free event has something for everyone.

Planning to join the festivities? You’ll find everything you need to make your visit smooth and enjoyable. The event takes place at Lions Park, and Brantford Transit will be offering free shuttle service throughout the day. Buses will depart every 30 minutes from the Lynden Park Mall, Brantford Transit Terminal, and Brantford Civic Centre starting at 11:00 a.m., with return trips running after 10:30 p.m.

Parking is available off Gilkison Street for $10 per vehicle, with proceeds supporting Rotary Brantford-Sunrise. Accessible parking is also provided on-site for those with permits. If you’re planning to drive, note that several streets around the park will be closed from 7:00 a.m. until midnight on July 1. It’s best to plan your route ahead of time.

This year’s event also features an eco-friendly twist. Brantford’s Canada Day Green Team is aiming for a 75% waste diversion rate. You’re encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle and fill up at the on-site Quench Buggy, provided by Healthy Kids Brantford. Let’s celebrate responsibly!

Schedules and Event Highlights

There’s no shortage of things to do from morning till night. The KidZone Carnival and Midway will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., offering classic rides like the Ferris wheel, carousel, Zero Gravity, and more. You can grab ride tickets on-site, or purchase a wristband in advance for $35 (wristbands go up to $45 on Canada Day).

Throughout the day, visitors can explore over 70 vendors in the Marketplace, featuring handmade crafts, unique products, and international street food. The Food Zone will serve everything from fair classics to international flavours from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

The Young Canadians Stage runs from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a full lineup of family-friendly entertainment. Kids can sing along with Bob the Builder, meet PAW Patrol’s Rubble, enjoy the Kiki Totally Outrageous Show, and catch several performances by The Barry-O Kids Show. There’s also a fun Storytime session hosted by Rubble, Dexter, and Brantford’s very own engineering team.

Be sure to catch the Tim Burr Circus Lumberjack Show at the Red Diamond stage, with shows at 1:00, 2:30, 4:00, and 6:00 p.m. Expect fire stunts, axe-throwing, log rolling, and a whole lot of energy. From 1:00 to 3:30 p.m., Guinness World Record-holding stilt walker Doug “The Great” Hunt will be towering above the crowd, ready for photos and high-fives.
