The Trews Live & FREE: Brantford’s Canada Day Concert

Brantford, ON – June 30, 2025 – Brantford continues its Canada Day tradition of delivering top entertainment absolutely FREE to the community. This year’s celebration at Lions Park features Canadian rock powerhouse The Trews as headliners, proving once again that Brantford knows how to celebrate our nation’s birthday. The full day of music kicks off at 12 p.m. and culminates with fireworks at 10 p.m. With local acts, headlining performers, food vendors, and family activities, Lions Park will be the place to be for Canada Day.

Headliner Spotlight: The Trews

Hailing from Antigonish, Nova Scotia, and now based in Hamilton, Ontario, The Trews are a staple of Canadian rock. Formed in 1997, the band, fronted by vocalist Colin MacDonald, guitarist John-Angus MacDonald, bassist Jack Syperek, and drummer Theo McKibbon, is known for its energetic live shows, with 21 Top 10 singles on Rock radio in Canada to its credit.

They will be promoting their new album The Bloody Light, their eighth full-length studio album out October 24, 2025, and will perform songs from the new release including Don’t Get Lost in the Dark and Downtown Again.

Fans can also expect to hear some of their biggest crowd-pleasers, including hits like Not Ready to Go, Hold Me in Your Arms, Highway of Heroes, Yearning, Tired of Waiting, and the emotionally charged Poor Old Broken Hearted Me (video below).  Their live concerts showcase the band’s signature blend of raw energy and heartfelt lyrics. So get ready to sing along, raise your fist, and rock out on Canada’s birthday with one of the country’s most beloved bands.
